One You Might Have Missed: The Club (PS3, Xbox 360)

Posted in Uncategorized on November 4, 2010 by itsgamertime

From Bizarre Creations,  the developers of the Project Gotham Racing games, The Club is an exciting 3rd person action game that failed to light up the sales charts but was never the less an astonishingly fun game. With a scoring system that required precision and speed, The Club has nearly limitless replayability. It is a blend of the best parts of Project Gotham, Gears of War, and Tony Hawk. You could replay the same level multiple times and still discover new paths, new combos, and new ways to shave precious seconds off your time.

Even though most people have never experienced the joy of The Club dozens of developers have looked to the game for inspiration. This really is a game that 10 years from now everyone will pretend like they played.

The Decision

Posted in Uncategorized on July 9, 2010 by itsgamertime

So “The Decision” has been made. The “King” has left his kingdom. Lebron is joining Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade in Miami. We are now halfway to my NBA 2K fantasy Bobcat team. The key is luring Kobe from the Lakers. Piles of money should do the trick. The next part is a little more tricky. We need to somehow convince Larry Bird and Bob Cousy to come out of retirement. This gives us a starting 5 of Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Bird, and Howard. Bosh and Cousy come off the bench to provide some quick scoring and energy. That is a nasty starting 5 and an equally devastating bench.

Might sound crazy now, but so did the idea of Wade and Lebron ever playing together on a team that wasn’t going to the Olympics.

As it stands now even without my crazy imaginary GM maneuvering the Heat are going to be fascinating. If you play as the Heat would you even use the other players? Is there going to be an option to send 2 guys to the bench so you can play 3 on 5? Are Lebron’s video game assist stats going to come close to his real assist stats? All of these questions are percolating in my brain and we’re still a ways out from October. Whether you’re talking digital or real life next years basketball season just got way more interesting.

I am more excited than ever for NBA 2K11.
